ITI Course with Placement
Kolkata Angikar - a Commitment to Standing with PeopleKolkata Angikar started a free ITI education program in partnership with J.C. Bose ITI, Gurap—an institute known for its modern infrastructure and strong placement support.
Each year, we select 10 financially backward yet promising students, many from remote areas like Kumirmari in the Sundarbans or villages in Midnapore. Our journey began in 2020, in collaboration with the NGO Ekaler Somsaptak, when we supported our first batch of students.
These young minds are enrolled in a two-year technical course, training in trades like fitter, electrician, and surveyor—skills that open doors to real job opportunities in today’s market. J.C. Bose ITI enriches their learning experience with advanced workshops, robotics labs, and access to industry partnerships with companies like L&T, Honda, and Maruti Suzuki.
But we knew education alone wasn’t enough. So we made sure they had a place to stay—helping the college set up hostel facilities for the first time for these students. We also looked after their food needs by creating a simple canteen where they cook together, learning not just skills for work, but also for life.
For these students, this is more than just a course. It’s a chance to rewrite their stories—and we’re proud to walk beside them on that path.
